Working on Umbrella Academy Season 4 was an incredibly fun and creatively fulfilling experience, where collaboration and artistic expression were at the heart of everything we did. From the very beginning, I was surrounded by a team of talented individuals who were not just colleagues but also friends, all working together to bring a unique vision to life.
My first major task was designing graphics for inter-dimensional subway ads. Partnering with my teammates Diego, Laura and Stephanie, we dove into the lively environment of Toronto’s TTC subway system, where we explored every corner, measuring and documenting the details that would inspire our designs. This hands-on project was both challenging and exciting, allowing us to blend real-world elements with our creative imaginations.
Throughout the season, I had the opportunity to flex my creative muscles across a variety of projects. From crafting labels for fictional soda and liquor bottles to redesigning logos and intricate carpet patterns, I found myself constantly engaged in artistic challenges that were as enjoyable as they were rewarding. One of the highlights was creating festive wooden Christmas stand-up boards, which added a whimsical touch to the show’s unique aesthetic.
A big part of my role involved using my illustrative skills, which were put to great use across multiple projects. Whether sketching out initial concepts or refining final designs, illustration became a key tool in my creative toolkit, helping to bring our collective vision to life in a vivid and engaging way.
Walking through the beautifully crafted sets was always a treat, and working closely with the set decoration team gave me new insights into the collaborative nature of film production. I also had the chance to explore 3D design, contributing to the costumes and props departments by creating elements for 3D printing. This was another exciting avenue for creativity, allowing me to experiment with different forms and techniques.
The real joy of working on Umbrella Academy Season 4 came from the camaraderie and teamwork that defined the entire production. Every day on set was an opportunity to learn from others, share ideas, and contribute to something truly special. The friendships and professional connections I made during this time have been incredibly valuable, and I’m grateful for the chance to have been part of such an inspiring and dynamic team.
Being part of this project wasn’t just about doing a job—it was about being part of a creative journey filled with fun, learning, and artistic growth. I’m proud to have played a role in bringing this season to life, and I’m excited to carry the lessons and experiences I’ve gained into future projects.
